Apr 2026 Update

A laptop is open with a pile of papers on the keyboard. The papers have edit marks in read pen.

This month has been all about editing. Between ghostwriting, Phoenix’s Call and Season 5 of IGN, my schedule is packed.

The first episode premieres this Sunday, May 3rd for Patreon members and Tuesday, May 5th for everyone else. Join me as I chat with author Ally Kelly about about the pull of fantasy, wondering what to do after you finish your first book, why outlines are helpful, and not rushing the process. This episodes kicks off the first of many wonderful interviews with my fellow indie authors.

A piece of paper with Chapter Fourteen at the top and numerous red marks around the main text of the page. A red pen lays on top and to the left is a hand holding a sweet snack.

April also marks the first time I’ve been able to read through Phoenix’s Call from start to finish. After nearly ten years of putting the book away and taking it back out, to read through it was surreal. Of course, this came with many edits and only a small handful of pages escaped the red pen. Regardless, being able to hold the completed story in my hands was magical.

Between all of these amazing projects, we just got word that work on our property will begin shortly, meaning we are finally moving forward with building out first house. The main reason why I’ve taken on so many projects and have been so busy is because, come mid-summer, I’ll be switching gears!

We’ve been at our current rental for over thirteen years so there is much to do between packing and deep-cleaning so I will be taking a break from July until the end of August. But no worries, because there will still be loads of new content!

I am incredibly grateful to work for myself and be able to plan around such major life events. Much of the work I’ve been doing this year has been in preparation for this exact scenario, so podcast episodes and blog posts on Patreon will be scheduled ahead of time.

Friendly reminder, you’ll also have the chance to see me in person! I will be running Tarot Night at The Annex in Lancaster, NH on Tuesday, May 26th. It’s open to all, including beginners. There will be fun tarot activities and games, so don’t forget to sign up while you can! I’ll also be at the Dorr Family Farm’s Barn Sale Bazaar on June 6th and 7th in Whitefield, NH, selling my books and offering tarot readings. There is another event on the horizon that I’ll be announcing very soon, so keep an eye on your email and my Events page.

With so many amazing things happening, my head is spinning but, don’t worry, my family and friends are making it very clear that I need to take some breaks and attempt to relax. I’m sure I can fit that somewhere into my schedule!
